Holy Guacamole!

Let's be real, guacamole is not the prettiest dish. No matter the lighting, camera, or filter you use, it just always looks like a green pile of mush. But, oh my goodness, I love this mush. Can one ever eat enough chips and guac? We may never know.

Guacamole is so easy to make, but finding the perfect ripeness of an avocado at your grocery store is not always as easy. It just has to be barely squishy, hard avocados (not quite ripe) are a no go and too squishy (over ripe) avocados do not make for a good guacamole. Awful explanation, I know, but I claim to be a cook, not an avocado specialist people!!

The feeling you get when you cut an avocado perfectly (!!!) ...anybody?

Just 6 ingredients, 6 ingredients is all it takes to create the most perfect guac.

**It could be 7, if you choose to add cilantro, but you know how some people can't stand that taste? My fiancé is one of them.

Have the chips ready, this guacamole is ready when you are!

*Serves 3-5

Ingredients:

  • 3 avocados

  • 2 Tbs. lime juice

  • 1/2 of medium (or 1 small) tomato

  • 1/2 small red onion

  • 2 tsp. salt

  • 1-2 tsp. chili powder (your spice preference)

  • 1 Tbs. cilantro (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cut the avocados in half and scoop it out into a bowl.

  2. Add the lime juice, salt, and chili powder.

  3. Chop the onion and tomato, then add to the bowl.

  4. Using a fork, mash it all together and BOOM, enjoy!

Side Note: This guac is even more enjoyable with a margarita in hand ;)
